A few weeks back, Bri brought a bundle of string and stone out of the garage and walked up to me. Thinking that she wanted to show it to me, I reached out to accept it and immediately snatched my hand away, recoiling at the touch.
It turns out that it was given to her by a dark shaman and both her and her witchy mom felt that it needed to be discarded.
Considering my instinctive reaction to it, I agreed. There was definitely a presence to the item - and it was about as far away from "pleasant" as one could get.
So we drove into the Coast Range Mountains, heading for a different area than I had gone to during my immersion ritual. The concept we were using to approach the removal of the object was fairly simply and one I'll be offering when I teach magickal combat sometime in the future.
Most people tend to want to physically destroy the object in question, but that actually releases the energy that is bound in the item. The most useful approach is to further ground the energy and to diffuse it with love, forgiveness, and acceptance.

Bri crouches in the snow to take a photo of one of the "egg sacks."
The area we chose was beautiful and serene - and surrounded by three large "egg sacks," each approximately the size of two softballs placed side by side. They were gelatinous and we could see smaller objects within them, which is why we referred to them as egg sacks - although we were at a loss to come up with anything that could have created them.
An egg sack - roughly the size of two softballs set side-by-side.
Walking into the forest, we found an appropriate spot and Bri quietly connected with then released the object. I found a fallen branch and lifted it high in the air, suspending the dark object from a branch far above the forest floor where it could be cleansed by the wind and grounded by the energy of the tree. Bri left a beautiful stone at the base of the tree as a thank you gift to the spirits of the forest and we scattered bread for the birds as an offering before heading back down the mountain.
