We here at Old Ways do our best to make ourselves so available to our readers. There's a certain mystique that tends to form around those of us who find ourselves in a teaching role within the spiritual community. For our particular approach to work, it's pretty important that we tear down as many of those walls as possible. We truly believe that each of us has a calling, no more or less prestigious than any other. Ours is simply to teach what we know and to do our best to not only serve the spiritual community, but to strive to make the world a better place. Rather than hold ourselves up as something special, we'd rather be honest and remind you that you're just as special as we are.
If you'd like to write for Old Ways you can find our guidelines here.
Jeffrey Pierce
jeffrey@oldways.com | Facebook | Twitter
On March 21, 1987, Jeffrey set off across the spiritual globe to seek the truths and common ground embraced by all religions. It's a path that found him trained as a shaman by a Native American woman, studying with an old Roma crone, and deeply exploring Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, and various indigenous and pre-Christian beliefs. He is the founder of both Old Ways and Soul-Centered Humanity, the path he teaches as a tool to help others find their spiritual core and reach their full potential.

Brad Arnold
brad@oldways.com |
Facebook
Brad began his work as a Seeker when, at 18, he discovered that one of his co-workers was a "witch." Intrigued, and never the sort to beat around the bush, he asked this "witch" what being a witch meant, what it was. He had two books recommended to him, which he purchased immediately, and they put him on the Path. More than two decades later, Brad refers to himself as a hybrid Buddhist-Pagan, a caster of Runes and a reader of Totems, and an eclectic practitioner of the Whatever Works school of magic.
Susan Boring
susan@oldways.com |
Facebook
Susan describes herself as The Quintessential Big Kid. Refusing to grow up, she relishes helping others remember how to play as well. Her degree is in Art Education, and she loves painting - everything from toenails to murals. A city kid by birth and choice, Susan delights in finding the magickal in the mundane. Coming from a strict Judeo-Christian upbringing, she has found Truth lies down many paths. "Truth is where you find it. Regardless of our path, we should never feel guilty about taking what is Truth for us, and leaving the rest."
Diana Ranslam
diana@oldways.com |
Facebook
Diana is happiest with her hands in the dirt, creating in the kitchen, or with her nose in a book. Her parents raised their children to make their own choices in religion, but the path she was called down was not quite what they meant. Diana has always been interested in and honored all religions; however, started seriously seeking life and spirit five years ago. She identifies herself as a Pagan, but believes religious titles are irrelevant as Truth and Love is available everywhere.
Heather Metcalfe
heather@oldways.com |
Facebook
On any given day, you'll find Heather making granola, playing, working outside, baking bread or any number of other things. She strives to make her family's life as independent from non-renewable resources as possible and take her skills back to when things were at once simpler. This make Heather feel that much more connected to nature's natural rhythms - mindful everyday acts, a reverence for the simple abundance that Nature provides and the joy that comes from being so aware of the energies and life that surrounds me.
