Someone once asked me, "So how much of a budget do you have for Old Ways?"
I think I simply laughed (kindly) in response.
Everything that happens here at Old Ways is done entirely on an volunteer basis. Any expenses, from the cost of hosting the site to the equipment that we use to capture photos and video, come directly out of our own pockets. We aren't wealthy and give up a great deal of luxuries (especially by American standards) to devote to teaching, counseling, and healing those who come our way. We NEVER want to turn someone away or deny them access to the opportunity to expand their spirituality simply because they're short on money. It's one of the many reasons we offer Old Ways, from the site to the classes that we teach in person and online, completely free of charge.
Still, people often approach us, asking what they can do to say, "Thank you."
One of the easiest ways to do so is to drop some spare change in our PayPal account. Just click the button below and it will take you to the appropriate page. If you don't have a PayPal account, the lower left-hand portion of the screen offers you the option of using your credit or debit card.
This purchase will be processed as if it were being paid to Sage and Scribe - which is the name we've chosen to encompass the business end of everything we do.
I chose PayPal because I've used them myself while making online purchases and I trust their service with my own funds. In fact, I won't buy Solstice or birthday gifts off eBay if there's not an option to use PayPal to complete the transaction.
The button above is encrypted using PayPal's standards, rather than just being a link (which is one of the reasons why it can take a moment to appear), so even getting from here to their page is secure.
The only confusing thing about the PayPal screen is that the "Unit Price" field is blank. You can indicate whatever amount you'd like to send. Don't be surprised if some sort of "thank you" ends up in your snail mailbox - a hand-written note... a rock gathered on one of my journeys... a shell from some lonely beach... one of the herbal products we make. It's hard to say what form it will take, but we do like to express gratitude ourselves.
In peace and light,
Jeffrey Pierce
P.S.
In order to maintain the ethical stance that we take toward money and spiritual work, we've chosen to put our financial records online as they pertain to Old Ways and the work we do through this site.
