Pagan Snapshots: Apple Tree

by Jeffrey Pierce

Apple is known as the "give-away" tree, teaching us to share ourselves, our gifts, and our talents. Most apple trees are female, which associates this tree with the Goddess.

Apple is also one of the nine sacred trees, associated with love. However, it is also associated with magic. Other than spellwork which can be placed on apples and eaten, when cut in half, the apple also reveals a five-pointed star at its center, a reminder of the pentacle.

Besides its fruit and blossoms, Apple has a wonderful energy and a fragrant wood that is especially suited for crafting tools intended to bless with abundence.
