Cedar has also been called "portal wood." If you find a cedar whose branches brush the ground, peek underneath. If you find one that is open and spacious under its veil of green (much like a cave), you've found a place where the veil between the worlds is extremely thin. This place is exceptionally well suited to meditative journeys and shamanic work.

The needles of Cedar are also sacred, used in purifying ritual space and for messages and prayers from ourselves to the spirit world. As such, cedar is a very magical wood and should only be used for tools if proper permission is given or if the wood is a windfall. If such conditions are met, cedar is exceptionally well suited for crafting tools used for interacting with the spirit realm and in spellwork.
